Little Mountain Learning Academy’s High Achieving Independent Learners Program is the ultimate educational outlet for self-directed, self-motivated learners.
Students in this program develop enhanced reading, writing, presentation, and research skills. Perhaps most importantly, however, students garner early development toward critical thinking skills. The outcome of study in this program are confident students who are well-equipped to succeed in any North American post-secondary academic program.

High Achievers & Independent Learners
Age: Jr. Stream: 8–10yrs | Sr. Stream: 11–17yrs
Entry point: graduating from Young High Achievers (Hare) or High Achievers (Deer) Stages
Exit point: demonstrated readiness for post-secondary studies in North America; can continue indefinitely

Jr. Independent Integrated Project: 12-week projects, 2hr sessions, once/week
Story of the World: 2hr sessions, once/week; continued enrollment driven by interest
Sr. Stream
Independent Integrated Project: 12-week projects, 2hr sessions, once/week
Critical Literacy: 2hr sessions, once/week
Debating: 2hr sessions, once/week
Media and Current Events: 2hr sessions, once/week
Classics Novel Study: 2hr sessions, once/week
Creative writing: 2hr sessions, once/week
Timeframe: For as long as the students are interested and engaged in their learning
With the exception of IIP, each of the above 2hr classes is comprised of 90-minutes in-class and 30-minutes of computer lab.
